Our Thin Blue Line American Flag is fully customizable with the badge design of your choice and stained in the "thin blue line" themed black and blue. Our flags stand apart from other sellers on Etsy as they are made from solid locally sourced hardwood, not cheap soft pine. We also don't just paint the wood black but instead use translucent black wood stain to showcase the wood grain. We use walnut stain on the badge to help it stand out from the rest of the flag unlike most other designs you see online. The front and sides of each flag is finally sealed in 3 coats of glossy polyacrylic. Our flag is solid, heavy and built to be handed down generations. This particular design will require a quality graphic of the badge/emblem that you would like carved into the flag which can be acquired from the department itself or often right off the internet. (If you don't have a copy, please send us a photo of the badge and we will be happy to help you). Your flag can be personalized with the text of your choice carved into the stripes to commemorate your loved one's public service. For wall mounting, router out a keyhole in the rear of the flag. We currently offer this flag in 3 different sizes: 16"x8" 24"x12" and 32"x16". Please be sure to select desired size at checkout. Each flag gets the attention to detail the recipient deserves. You can buy a cheaper flag, but you can't buy better quality. All flags feature a roughly .5"-.75" border around them depending on the size of the flag. All of our items are designed to last generations; thus, we make them from locally sourced solid hardwoods (normally oak or white ash depending on what our supplier has available). Each order is individually made and takes several hours per sign to carve on our CNC. After this we hand sand and finish each sign. All signs are then carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed for a safe journey to their new home. Signs include sawtooth hangers for wall hanging.
